Fuel Taps
A fuel cock, also known as a fuel Tap or petcock, is a component in a vehicle or machinery that controls the flow of fuel from the fuel tank to the engine. It’s commonly found in motorcycles, small engines, and some older cars.
Fuel taps usually have several positions:
- On: This position allows fuel to flow from the tank to the engine, enabling the vehicle to run.
- Off: This position stops the fuel flow, preventing any fuel from reaching the engine. It’s often used when the vehicle is not in use to prevent leaks or when working on the engine.
These taps can be manually operated, using a lever or knob, to regulate the fuel flow, ensuring efficient engine operation and preventing fuel leakage when not in use
Drain Taps
A drain tap, also known as a drain valve or drain cock, is a type of valve used to release or drain fluids from a system or container. It’s often a simple valve designed to be opened or closed manually to control the flow of liquids or gases out of a container, pipe, or system. Drain taps are commonly found in plumbing systems, water heaters, air compressors, and various industrial machinery where regular draining or maintenance is necessary. They help in safely removing liquids or gases without dismantling the entire system.
Fuel Sediment Bowl Assy
A fuel sediment bowl assembly is a component in some types of fuel systems, particularly in older vehicles or machinery. Its primary function is to filter out any impurities or debris that might be present in the fuel before it reaches the engine. The assembly typically consists of a glass or plastic bowl-shaped container attached to the fuel line. Inside this bowl, there’s a filter or screen that catches sediment, water, or other particles that may have settled in the fuel tank. This helps prevent these contaminants from entering the engine, which could otherwise cause damage or clog fuel lines and injectors. The sediment bowl can be periodically cleaned or replaced to maintain proper functioning of the fuel system.
